Executive coaching is needed for better emotional management of organizational matters and its outcome should be to empower the executives by enhancing that ability.

Executive coaching is termed as a one-to-one consultancy relationship between a coach and an executive to improve the latter’s performance and capabilities. Many studies have found that the major causes of problems in executives are due to hassles in emotional competence. These hassles could be unable to work well in a group or a team, having difficulties in handling changes and improper or poor relations between the team members. These studies showed that a person who can manage his/her emotional and professional priorities have a better working relationship within their group. Executive coaching is more than behavioural changes; it’s more a study of understanding them and making changes that are effective and last long.

There are (and should be) some professional limitations between the coach and the client as executive coaching is beneficial if done keeping in mind improving the executive’s and then organization’s outcomes. Executive coaching is more effective if the coach reaches deep commitment levels and discusses important issues with the executive. Traditionally, executive coaching’s outcome just included enhancing the performance of executives. But, the outcomes are becoming more specific and broadening with the passage of times and increasing demands for coaching.

The outcomes of executive coaching should be strengthening the executive’s strategic making and decision making process, enhance their ability to understand and navigate sensitive organizational issues and getting more insight into the explorations that could be made for the self and the organization. Setting the outcomes similar or nearly similar to the above mentioned goals can be very beneficial for the executive as well as the company.
